Troopons™ -- Coupons for TroopsThe Community Outreach Committee will be collecting MANUFACTURER coupons
(expired ones too) for our military families overseasfor our military families overseas.Guidelines:
1) Please have them already clipped prior sending them into school.2) Separate coupons into food and non-food - (food: can be eaten or drank by humans for nourishment; chewing gum and mints are considered food. non-food: housewares, animal food, vitamins, etc., are not food)

In order to have our “Heartfelt” creations completed in time for Valentine’s Day, each student will have an opportunity
to decorate a “Heartfelt” craft for America's military during the month of January. Those crafts will be sent
women in uniform and the hardships of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond
that normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Questions? Contact Theresa Yodzis

the WFES PTA needs your assistance! If you are interested in working with the PTA on a Lowe's Grant to fund a pavilion project for WFES, please contact Pascale Fagerstrom at paki71@hotmail.com. We are in the beginning stages, and would appreciate the skills and talents of professionals in the field.

GUMC Food Pantry
Glenelg United Methodist Church (GUMC) is a new partner of the Howard County Food Bank.
For those in need of assistance for food, come GUMC every third Saturday of the month.
They are open 9:00 a.m. - 10: a.m. and will give out groceries from both the Howard County
Food Bank and the Glenelg United Methodist Church food pantry.
GUMC is located at 13900 Burntwoods Road, Glenelg, MD.

Wellness Committee – Food Allergy Group
Do you have a child with a food allergy? If so, we would like to hear your input on food issues at school.
Under the Wellness Committee, a new group is forming comprised of parents who have a child with a
food allergy. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact Heather Thamer, PTA Wellness
Coordinator at heather@thamers.com. Your input is valuable as we work to understand the allergies
we have at school and how we can support the wellness of children who have food allergies.

Do you have a preschooler who will be attending kindergarten at WFES next year? Would you like to meet other parents of children who will be as well? Perhaps your child is interested meeting his or her future classmates? Consider heading up the Tiger Cub Club, which facilitates friendships and play groups with incoming kinders.
